VOLKSWAGEN has announced prices for its first diesel Beetle, the 1.9TDI PD 100bhp that hits the road at £14,175.

The car emits carbon dioxide at the rate of 143g/km, and will qualify for a company car tax benefit charge of 18% of its P11D price.

At the other end of the emission scale, the new 275bhp, 4.0-litre Passat W8 goes on sale for £29,900 for the 6-speed manual and £30,675 for the auto Tiptronic, emitting CO2 at the rate of 317g/km and 312g/km respectively.
