PRICES and specifications have been announced for the Mercedes Vaneo mini-MPV. On sale from May 16, the range costs from £14,680 to £16,780 on-the-road.

The Vaneo comes in three trim levels - Trend, Family and Ambiente - and four engines, 82bhp 1.6-litre, 102bhp 1.6-litre, 125bhp 1.9-litre petrol and 91bhp 1.7-litre common rail diesel.

The base Trend model comes with four airbags, ABS with Brake Assist, Electronic Stability Program, electric windows, CD player and remote central locking. Options are suitably numerous, but to simplify the choice process, there are five 'activity packages' to match various lifestyles: Winter Sports, Carry, Cycle, Dog and Surf.
