THE Energy Saving Trust has announced funding worth £10 million for five projects submitted under the Ultra Low Carbon Car Challenge.

It says the funding will enable the project teams to develop and demonstrate a family-sized ultra-low carbon car in the UK. The projects will be given funding through the New Vehicle Technology Fund. Companies to receive funding include MG Rover Group, Ricardo UK Ltd and Zytec Automotive Electronics.
