CARMASTERS has celebrated the first auction at its newly-opened Carnaby refurbishment centre, with a sale of vans averaging 99.3% of CAP clean.

Managing director Mike Garland said: 'I am encouraged by the initial sale of more than 100 vehicles, which went off without any major hitches. The standard of presentation was first class and those trade buyers who attended were favourably impressed. Preparations are now in hand for our next auction to be held on November 6, which will include a selection of fully-prepared 'ready to retail' units and unprepared trade vehicles.'

Sales included an 0151 86,000-mile Mercedes Vito 108 CDI which went for £6,500 and an 00X 55,000 mile Ford Transit 350 Dropside S/Cab, bought for £8,150.
