VAUXHALL vans are getting a 2004 model year update with a series of engine and other changes.

The company's 1.3 and 1.7-litre common-rail engines make their first major appearances in the range. The 70bhp 1.3 replaces both the 1.7 Di and 1.7 DTi in Corsavan, which also gets ABS as standard for an on-the-road price of £8,930. The 1.7-litre unit goes into Astravan, replacing the 1.7 DTi. The price rises by £100 to start the range at £10,790.Combo gets stronger door stays and Vivaro gets ABS as standard and the new 2.5 DTi engine, offering 135bhp. Vauxhall van sales are up 57.3% year-on-year.
