PROFIT opportunities presented to manufacturers by specialist UK fleet markets are often overlooked, claims Network Automotive Management (NAM).

The company says a wide spread of differing niches such as blue light, tax-free, daily rental, driving school and public sector are often under-exploited by manufacturers. Robin Goudge, operations director, said: 'Every UK manufacturer recognises the importance of fleet sales but often concentrate simply on the mainstream fleet and user-chooser sector.

'A number shy away from the more specialised areas of the market, often simply because they have little or no experience of them, or lack the resource to address the opportunity. This is unfortunate because these sectors often offer higher margins than the traditional fleet market and a greater opportunity to enjoy repeat business.'

NAM describes itself as specialising in providing outsourced sales and marketing management services to manufacturers in a variety of specialist fleet markets.

The company already helps a number of major manufacturers in several sectors. Goudge added: 'We believe that these specialist fleet sectors are particularly important thanks to the tougher new car market. These niches are often largely untouched by wider financial trends and tend to offer consistent volumes year-in and year- out.'
