LATEST analysis into new car sales has found that the growth of mini-MPVs is slowing. September's figures studied by business information specialist JATO show registrations in western Europe's new car market were down by 2.2% compared with the same month the previous year.

The growth of mini-MPVs has slowed during the month, although the year-to-date increase was still high, the company found. A spokesman said: 'The mini-MPV segment's recent rapid growth slowed slightly in September with the total volume for the month up by only 6.4% compared to a year earlier.

'This had little effect on the year-to-date volume which remains up, by 27.2%, on the same period last year.'
