VOLVO’S diesel engine line-up will grow next week with the launch of two new Euro IV compliant engines.

The 163bhp 2.4 D engine will be available in the S60 and V70 ranges, while the second new engine, the D5, offers 185bhp and comes in XC90, XC70, S60 and V70 models. Both engines feature a particulate filter to cut emissions, and as a result both avoid the 3% benefit-in-kind diesel supplement.

They both also offer the same economy and emissions figures, returning 42.8mpg on the combined cycle and emitting 174g/km of CO2 in the S60, and 41.5mpg and 179g/km in the V70.
