FLEETS are being warned that thieves are increasingly targeting keys left in owners’ homes to steal vehicles.

This allows the thief to get around sophisticated anti-theft devices fitted to today’s modern cars. The warning comes from stolen vehicle recovery company Tracker, which says its own data shows that the number of such incidents doubled between 2002 and 2004.
