FOR the chauffeur fleet or managing director wanting the ultimate in luxury, the new range-topping Maybach could well be the answer.
Costing a fraction over £340,000, the 62S (S for Special) takes Maybach’s already-superlative level of luxury even further upmarket with higher-grade leather, piano black interior lacquer trim, modified light clusters, 20-inch alloy wheels and some discreet badging on the front wings.
It also features a useful power boost, with a 6.0-litre twin-turbo V12 developing 612bhp – 62bhp more than in a ‘stock’ model.
Which is good news for the pampered exec, although the residual value might bring a tear to a fleet manager’s eye – CAP predicts the 62 will retain just 35% of its cost new after three years/60,000 miles, resulting in a cash-lost figure of more than £200,000.
