Fleet managers have been told that the DVLA has seen an increase in the number V62 forms - Application for a Vehicle Registration Certificates – that are either incomplete or are inaccurate.

“This can often mean that it takes longer to process the application and in some cases, the application must be rejected,” it warned.

It has asked ACFO to help it tackle the issue. “We would therefore be grateful if you could issue a reminder to your members on the importance of completing the V62 accurately and with all the relevant information,” said the DVLA in a request to ACFO.

“Could you also please encourage your members to quote a telephone number, as some problems can be resolved by way of a quick phone call. If there are errors or omissions in the 'Vehicle Details' section of the form there is high probability that it will be rejected."

The latest version of the form is available at www.direct.gov.uk/motoringleaflets.
