PHS Washrooms, part of the PHS Group, is monitoring more than 700 vehicles using satellite vehicle tracking from Masternaut Three X to support its safe driving campaign.

The online tracking service allows the fleet management team to locate vehicles and observe their speed.

The system is helping to resolve allegations made against PHS drivers for insurance claims.

Nigel Bannister, group fleet manager at PHS, said: “Our aim is to encourage our drivers to drive carefully and considerately.

The group-wide safe driving campaign is an important initiative and when it is in full force we will be focusing on improving driving styles.

The spin-off from smoother, steadier driving will be an improvement in fuel consumption, which will save on running costs.

“From a proactive fleet management point of view, the system gives instant visibility.

"We know precisely where each vehicle is, the speed it is travelling at, when it arrived on site and when it left.

"It provides the proof and transparency we need – which is important for disputing insurance claims.

"We have already used it to quash an allegation made by a third party against one of our drivers.”

The service allows observation of vehicles and incorporates local speed limits to further enhance speed monitoring.
