Fleets will have a chance to put their most pressing business questions directly to the transport minister Jim Fitzpatrick at the Managing Risk in Fleet Conference on April 2.

The minister will be interviewed live on stage at the event, using questions sent in by readers.

The minister will outline future government policy and help fleets identify the key issues they will be facing over the next year.

The minister is one of 17 speakers and panellists that will be taking part in the conference, which takes place in Reading.

The event has been priced at a recession-beating £99 for bookings taken this month and has been designed to help maintain professionalism and promote best practice for fleet operators despite the difficult financial times many companies are facing.

A key aspect of this year’s conference - sponsored by Zurich - will be case studies from fleets in the frontline.

Among the fleet operators speaking at the Zurich sponsored event in April will be the award-winning fleet manager of Inspired Gaming, Gary Black, Lynne Bundle, fleet manager of Pfizer, and Karen Diggle, managing director of Chamberlain Doors.

Panellists include Nicky Simpson, service director - fleet management solutions, Amey and Charlotte Patch, fleet commercial officer, Balfour Beatty Plant and Fleet Services.

The speakers and panellists will cover a host of issues that are all focused on financial and corporate risk in fleet operations, ranging from capital allowances to an in-depth legal review for fleet operators.
