Fleet News has appointed Stephen Briers as its new editor. He replaces Martyn Moore, who has left the company to pursue other interests after three years at the helm.

Stephen said: “I’m delighted to be joining Fleet News. It has a proud heritage as the leading business title in the fleet industry and I am looking forward to building on this in the future. I intend to get out into the industry very quickly, meeting fleet managers, leasing companies and fleet directors, so to our readers, I say ‘expect a call from me soon!’”

After completing a degree in business administration, Stephen (38) began his career in 1993 as a writer on Body Magazine, a car accident repair publication, and became editor in 1995.

He joined Fleet News sister publication Automotive Management in 1998 as deputy editor and became news editor of AM, a merger of Automotive Management and AutoTrade, in 2002. He was appointed editor later that year and turned AM into the industry’s leading business publication.

Fleet News general manager Ian Richardson said: “Stephen Briers has the right credentials to move Fleet News forward to extend its undisputed position as the market-leading media brand in the company car and van sector.”

Stephen Briers will commence his role of new editor on the 26th February 2009.
