Hot on the heels of the new E-Class saloon, Mercedes-Benz has released details of the new Coupe version.

On sale in the UK in June, the E-Class Coupe succeeds the current CLK series and will come with a range of BlueEfficiency petrol and diesel engines which are claimed to consume up to 17% less fuel than the engines they replace.

Two petrol units will be offered – the E250 and E350 CDI which offer combined fuel economy of 53.3 and 41.5mpg respectively.

The E250 CDI delivers 204bhp yet emits 139g/km of CO2. E250 and E350 CGI petrols will also be offered, alongside a range-topping E500 V8.

Standard on all models will be Agility Control – an automatic suspension system which adjusts to match the way the vehicle is being driven.
