LDV has secured a three-year contract with Jewson and its sister company Graham in a deal worth over £11 million.

The Birmingham van-maker will supply Jewson and Graham with 500 Maxus vehicles comprising of panel vans, chassis cabs, dropsides and Lutons.

The 3.5-tonne Maxus fleet will be distributed across Jewson and Graham’s nationwide branch network.

The Luton and dropside models will be fitted with tail-lifts, whereas the vans will incorporate exterior glass rails and an interior racking system.

Ian Berrill, fleet director of Saint-Gobain Building Distribution, the parent organisation of Jewson and Graham, said: “In this current climate it was important that we chose a range that was reliable and fit for purpose.

“After a three month intensive trial we believe that the Maxus range comfortably met all our requirements.”

Carolyn Wall, LDV fleet director added: “We are extremely pleased to have beaten strong competition to win this valuable contract.

"This is an exceptionally difficult time in the industry, where customers are looking to reduce costs.

The Maxus product range, which is 100% built in Britain, can offer substantial operating cost savings versus the competition and the opportunity for businesses to help support the British automotive industry and economy.”
