Fleets are being offered a new service that allows them to monitor and control the care of their vehicles.

Already five fleets, including Norfolk Police and Drive Assist which between them have some 30,000 cars on the road, have signed up to the free service.

David Peretz, operations manager at Autocare, said the new service can offer savings of up to 20% over the typical expense payback or voucher system the fleets typically use to fund carwashes.

Autocare teamed up with nationwide carwash provider ARC to offer fleet managers the online system, which allows them to assign carwash credits to their drivers which can be used at any of the country’s 350 ARC wash stations.

The system is cash and voucher–free eliminating the possibility of fraud.

Drivers are assigned a pin code and the carwash attendants enter the car’s registration.

Fleet managers can then monitor the cost, rate of use and location on a password protected site.

They are billed only for the cost of the washes used at the end of each month.
