Peugeot and Honda have joined Ford in signing up to the Greener Company Car in Action – the UK’s premier ride and drive event for fleets.

Both manufacturers will be displaying environmentally-friendly models from their range, with Honda bringing along the new Insight hybrid and Peugeot displaying its wide range of low CO2 models.

Graham Avent, manager - corporate operations at Honda, said: "We're experiencing a real buzz at the moment, following the launch of our new hybrid, the Insight.

"A lot of fleets are showing interest and we already have some volume orders from corporate customers.

"I think people see the car as very much the right car at the right time.

"We'll be showing off the Insight at CCIA, along with the new Accord Type S, which is the flagship model in the range.

"This new car offers great performance from its 180bhp uprated diesel engine, but critically in the fleet market it also has excellent fueleconomy and sub-160/g/km CO2 emissions."

“As well as the above, we'll be bringing Jazz, Civic, CR-V, Civic Hybrid and FR-V models."

A spokesman for Peugeot said: "We will be demonstrating our range of low emission vehicles led by the successful award-winning van range and the SR business ranges designed to maximise specification and dynamism.

"From a brand new model perspective we will also present the new 308CC.

“We will also be offering an insight into how we will reinforce our low CO2, high MPG heritage with a number of exciting products which will be unveiled at the Greener Company Car in Action 2009.”

Event director Chris Lester said: “The focus is undoubtedly on green and this event will provide fleet decision-makers with probably the best opportunity all year to see and drive a wide range of environmentally friendly vehicles.”

Greener Company Car in Action is taking place at the Millbrook Proving Ground in Bedfordshire from June 16 –18.
