After a successful inaugural Fleet Van Conference and Awards last year, this year’s event will take place on September 16 at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham.

The event, which is seen as an essential part of the van fleet industry calendar, provides a full day of networking for van fleet decision-makers and their suppliers.

During the day, the conference will focus on the challenges facing van fleet operators and
look at some of the best ideas in the industry that have kept costs under control while still delivering efficient transport services to businesses.

The conference will be followed in the evening by the van fleet industry’s glittering awards, which will be especially well deserved this year as fleet managers and their suppliers have been enduring an incredibly tough market, where everyone is being tested by the challenging economic conditions.

The Fleet Van Awards will cover three key categories: fleet managers, fleet suppliers and fleet manufacturers, with the evening rounded off by a series of prestigious headline awards.

Fleet Van will announce further details about conference content and awards categories over the coming weeks.

The deadline for awards entries will be Friday, July 24. The winners in each category will be announced during a black tie ceremony, which will take place in the evening.

Chris Lester, event director, said: “The Fleet Van Conference and Awards is a highlight of the industry calendar and offers a unique combination of best practice advice, networking and entertainment.

“Now, more than ever, the industry needs to gather to discuss the challenges of operating in this tough economic environment. The Fleet Van Conference and Awards is a vital opportunity for the industry to share best practice, network and celebrate.”

Fleet Van editor Trevor Gelken added: “I was really knocked out by last year’s conference and awards.

"For many years the people working in the van fleet industry have not had the recognition they deserve and our awards finally put that right.

“Last year the standard of entries was incredibly high and this year I hope even more van fleet operators and supply companies will come forward and bid for a prize.

“All entrants have to do is send in an explanation of why they think they should win and our expert panel of judges will do the rest – we won’t be asking people to come in for an interview.

“Also, we’ve been listening to the comments – both positive and negative – from last year’s event and we’ve fine-tuned the awards categories to allow even more people to enter.

“I’m looking forward to this year’s event tremendously.”
