A seminar aimed at female company drivers will be held next week to discuss the safety of female road users.

The first 'DriveSafe and StaySafe' seminar at Shirley Golf Club in Solihull, will allow delegates to voice their opinions and concerns on matters ranging from what to do in an accident to coping with road rage, as well as learn simple personal protection skills in practical workshops.

The conference, organised by DriveSafe, will take place tomorrow (Wednesday, May 20) from 11.30 - 3.00pm.

Rosemary Thew, chief executive officer of the Driving Standards Agency, will be leading the debates.

Other speakers include

  • Jo Cameron, former BBC 'Apprentice' and businesswoman;
  • Gurjeet Baines, editor of The Sikh Times and first female chairwoman of the Institute of Asian Businesses;
  • Dr Lisa Dorn, reader in driver behaviour and training at Cranfield University;
  • Patricia Murtagh, chair of the project group responsible for transporting local competitors and spectators for the 2012 Olympics; and
  • Diane Benussi, a prominent divorce lawyer.
