Following LDV’s application to halt its move into administration, which was approved by Birmingham County Court last week, production should begin at its Birmingham factory within weeks.

The final steps in the van maker’s sale from Gaz to Weststar, a Malaysian auto manufacturer, are expected to be completed by the end of June.

The company said Birmingham will remain LDV’s “centre of engineering excellence”, where designs for new low-carbon vans and its special vehicle option conversions will be sited.
