Lombard Vehicle Management has signed a deal worth almost £12 million to supply 167 recovery vehicles between now and the end of 2010 to the AA.

It already provides the AA with around 2,400 roadside assistance vans, plus 40 AA Fuel Assist vans, along with AA Driving School cars and company cars.

The recovery vehicles, mostly based on Renault Midlum Crew Cabs, will be run on an operating lease over a five-year term.

“We’re very pleased to involve Lombard in this part of our business,” said the AA’s Steve Sharpe, manager of fleet and recovery. “Very few leasing companies have real expertise in commercial vehicles as well as cars, and even fewer can handle heavier vehicles as well as vans.”
