Auction4Cars, launched late last year by Motorpoint, is predicting that its fee-free online auctions will become increasingly popular.

It already has more than 1,100 registered buyers, including a number of major dealers, and receives almost 35,000 hits a month.

“The level of business we are doing shows there is a fundamental shift in the way people are buying vehicles and, as the popularity of fee-free online alternatives like Auction4Cars continues to grow, so the traditional way of selling cars through auctions looks numbered,” claimed James Faulkner, group disposals manager at Motorpoint.
