BP has announced that Addison Lee is the winner of the BP Car and Van Fleet Fuel Efficiency Awards 2009.

The awards, which have been designed to acknowledge companies which proactively reduce their fuel consumption and carbon emissions, recognise Addison Lee’s comprehensive fuel efficiency initiatives and commitment to reducing their fleet’s impact on the environment.

In addition to applying environmental fleet initiatives such as driver training, tyre management and car sharing, Addison Lee has saved approximately 8,000 tonnes of CO2 through its carbon reduction scheme, significantly reducing its CO2 footprint in just one year.

The company also showed that long-term planning should be a cornerstone of all fleets’ efficiency efforts.
