Green fleet management can cut your business costs as well as your emissions.

That is the core message decision-makers will hear at this year’s Fleet News Green Fleet Summit, to be held in London on June 24.

Held in association strategic summit partner, The Energy Saving Trust, the event will provide briefings from 15 leading speakers and experts who will pinpoint what companies need to do to exploit the massive potential benefits available.

Among the organisations represented is the Environment Agency, which achieved direct cost savings of £1 million last year by reducing its grey fleet mileage.

The conference, which is supported by fleet operators association ACFO and the British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association, will include presentations, panel debates and networking sessions designed to help businesses expose and exploit vital cost savings fleets can achieve by introducing fleet management best practice.

Among the speakers are double Fleet News Award winner Gerard Finn, car fleet & business travel manager, Avon Cosmetics; Tom Pakenham, director, Green Tomato Cars; Nigel Underdown, the EST’s head of transport advice and Simon Dawes, Internal Environmental Team Manager, Environment Agency.

The programme will include a review of future Government policy from keynote speaker Graham Pendlebury, Director Environment and International at the Department for Transport.

There will also be in-depth advice on how to exploit the financial benefits of running a green fleet along with a review of the mistakes to avoid and great ideas that work when operating a green fleet programme.

Fleet News Editor Stephen Briers, said: “In the current economic climate, all businesses will be under pressure to cut costs and ensure they are running as efficiently as possible.

This includes transport, where savings that can go straight to the business bottom-line can be achieved hand-in-hand with meeting a company’s environmental commitments by reducing fuel use, managing mileage more efficiently and reviewing travel requirements.

“If you are serious about cutting costs and emissions, you cannot afford to miss this major one-day event."
