Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer has entered into an arrangement to provide Tusker’s SalarySacfrice4Cars (SS4C) scheme as part of its flexible benefits offering, Benefits Plus, to all UK staff.

Freshfields employs 1,800 staff in the UK and has not had a formal company car scheme for many years. The firm hopes that around 100 members of staff will take advantage of the SS4C offering during its first 12 months.

The SS4C scheme allows employees to sacrifice an amount of salary in return for a non-cash benefit, in this case a new car, thus saving Income Tax, up to 40%, and National Insurance, up to 11%, on the full amount of salary sacrificed.

Staff have to pay Benefit in Kind taxation on the value of the vehicle but this is at the rate of 10% for a sub 120g/km vehicle and 13% for an equivalent diesel.
