BSM has signed a contact with Fiat for the supply of its new driving school cars, ending a 16-year relationship with Vauxhall.
The Fiat 500 will now replace the Corsa as the school’s learner car.
Fiat will supply some 14,000 cars over the four-year contract – 3,500 every year - which will see some 130,000 learner drivers behind the wheel of a Fiat rather than a Vauxhall.
It is estimated that as many as 70% of new drivers buy the model that they learnt to driver in once they pass their test.
As an added incentive Fiat will give a £500 voucher to those who pass their test to redeem at a Fiat showroom.
