Mike Wise admits he was tempting fate. A couple of years ago, he proudly boasted that Kwik-Fit Fleet had never lost an account. Inevitably, that statement came back to haunt him.
It happened just over a year ago. However, Wise quickly adds that Kwik-Fit Fleet still trades with the handful of companies that went to his rivals, albeit to a lesser extent. And it hasn’t dented Kwik-Fit’s relentless growth.
Wise blames “naivety” in the level of service the other fast-fits were offering fleets. “They didn’t understand the cost of delivering the service – they were misguided.
And now some of them have stepped away again,” says the garrulous sales director in typically forthright fashion.
