Automotive Leasing, a subsidiary of LeasePlan, has been selected as a key supplier on the public sector procurement framework for commercial vehicle lease finance, contract hire services and conversions.

The procurement framework is open to public sector organisations including local authorities, education organisations, emergency services, government departments and their agencies.

The framework brings together a previously fragmented supply chain and has nine specialist funding providers.

It encourages public sector organisations to share best practice and benefit from ‘smart procurement’ savings.

It also removes some of the lengthy and resource intensive procurement activity associated with tenders, allowing the sector to concentrate on critical aspects of fleet operations: performance management and service delivery.

Stuart Walker, brand director at Automotive Leasing, said: “This new framework has the potential to deliver considerable savings across the public sector.

"As well as the pure economics, it also promises to promote more effective sharing of information and expertise, a factor that will help to spread best practice throughout the sector.

“As a preferred supplier on the framework, we’re looking forward to bringing our public sector fleet expertise to bear on the organisations that use it.

"We’ve helped organisations in all areas of the sector to meet targets, deliver cost savings and reduce the environmental impact of their fleet operations.

"Through this framework, we’ll now be able to work even closer with the sector.”
