Farnborough-based Fleet Department has become the latest signatory to the European Road Safety Charter, a European Commission initiative, which aims to save 25,000 lives on Europe’s roads.

Signatories undertake to introduce measures and share best practice in order to resolve the road safety problems that they encounter in their day-to-day environments.

It has more than 1,450 signatories across Europe, with Fleet Department the latest organisation to sign the charter.

“We are very excited to work with the European Road Safety Charter,” said David Lacy, operations and commercial director of Fleet Department. “Signing up with the EC Charter will enable us to promote and encourage road safety across the range of services we provide to our clients.”

Fleet Department are working with specialist training partners and fellow charter signatories E-Training World to provide a range of driver assessment tools, both on-line and real-time, as part of their commitment towards the objectives of the charter.
