Fleet operators must use every tool in their armoury to keep fuel costs under control and eliminate any unnecessary expenditure as pump prices are expected to surge in the coming months.

Following the recent (September 1) 2p-a-litre rise in fuel duty, pump prices are set to increase again on January 1, 2010, when the Government raises VAT back to its pre-recession 17.5% level.
