Ford has launched an innovative new door concept with the B-Max model unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show.

Although a concept, the car is production ready, and is expected to go on sale later this year.

It would replace the Fusion in the Ford line-up and while the model's front doors appear conventional, the rear doors slide open to reveal there is no fixed B-pillar.

The B-Max, derived from the same platform as the Fiesta, was shown with a new three-cylinder 1.0-litre Ecoboost petrol engine equipped with stop-start technology.
