In the first quarter of the current fiscal year, Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles delivered 121,200 light commercial vehicles worldwide, achieving an increase of 36.2% over the same period in the previous year.
In Western Europe, sales from January to March 2011 were up by 21.9%, to 65,300 units (Q1 2010: 53,600 vehicles). The highest volume market was Germany, with 25,900 deliveries to customers (Q1 2010: 24,150 vehicles; up by 7.4%).
On other European volume markets, in the first three months of 2011, products from Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles achieved high two-figure delivery growth rates.
Here in the UK, sales were up by 24.9%, in France by 29%, in the Netherlands by 33.7%, in Switzerland by 47.3%, and in Austria by 84.3%.
