SMMT has published its latest analysis of the total number of vehicles in use on UK roads.
The number of heavy commercial vehicles on the road increased by 5,219 units in 2010 versus 2009 to 563,295 units, while light commercial vehicles were also up 31,796 units.
The growth in the commercial vehicle market is largely driven by the heavy van sector with the total number of light vans and heavy trucks declining, say the SMMT.
The Motorparc database is produced annually by SMMT and provides a detailed reporting service specifying make and model of every vehicle currently in use on UK roads. For the full figures and further analysis, contact data@smmt.co.uk.
