Honda has revealed details on the next Honda Civic, which will be unveiled to the public at the Frankfurt Motor Show in September.

Designed exclusively for Europe, the new Civic will be available from early 2012, and Honda has worked on improving interior space, comfort and quality compared to the outgoing model.

Engineers have worked to improve handling and ride comfort, while retaining the same basic rear suspension design to keep the Civic's impressive interior and luggage space.

The new Civic is expected to offer dramatically improved CO2 emissions and fuel consumption over the outgoing model, particularly compared to the diesel version that was discontinued in 2010.

Our picture shows a disguised model undergoing testing, which hides design details, but provides a good idea of the overall shape and proportions of the car.
