Ingenico has signed a five year contract with Avis Europe to provide a fully managed payment service across its retail network.

Ingenico, the Fife-based technology firm with headquarters in France, will provide Avis Europe with a fully managed service including approximately 3,000 iCT250 chip and PIN terminals, transaction management delivered through Ingenico’s Axis platform, helpdesk and hardware maintenance services.

The solution will be installed across Europe in more than 1,000 retail locations, with roll out scheduled to start at the beginning of 2012.

Ingenico’s Axis solution is an international transaction management platform which centralises the management of transactions for large businesses.

The solution has already been deployed as a managed service for merchants in a wide variety of sectors such as retail, hospitality, transport and fuel.

Ingenico supports more than 80,000 active lanes on the Axis platform, with over 1.6 billion transactions routed in Europe every year.
