Drive Software Solutions has partnered with NCC Group to de-risk the switch to a single software platform for leasing and vehicle management companies.

Historically, leasing and vehicle management companies have used a combination of in-house development and external third party systems to deliver their services to fleet operators.

This has been labour intensive and prone to glitches where the different systems have been required to interface with one another to deliver a complex range of services from acquisition, through to SMR supplier management and disposal.

Leasing and fleet management companies are now starting to use sophisticated IT systems to provide a single platform instead of a myriad of different systems.

The key concern most leasing and vehicle management company CEOs have around switching to a single platform is business risk - what if the provider of the IT platform experiences an issue? Does that mean there will be a business interruption?

Drive Software Solutions, the creators of DRIVE, has partnered with NCC Group to de-risk such a move for leasing and vehicle management companies.

NCC Group currently protects more than 9,000 business critical software applications under comprehensive escrow agreements, on the behalf of licensees worldwide.

Simon West-Oliver (pictured), sales and marketing director at Drive, said: “Under the terms of our escrow agreement we will supply NCC Group with a copy of the source code of your application which they will hold securely on your behalf.

"This will be updated at regular agreed intervals to ensure the source code held is always up to date and reflects the current version of your application.

"In the unlikely event that we ever become unable to meet our contractual obligations, NCC Group will release the source code to you, allowing you to maintain and correct your software without disruption.”
