RingGo has reported increases in both employees and businesses using its RingGo Corporate mobile parking payment service.
Cobalt Telephone Technologies, the parent company of RingGo, has reported a 23% increase in the number of employees, and a 20% increase in the number of companies signed up for RingGo Corporate since the beginning of 2015.
Offering employees the option of paying for their parking via their mobile phone using a pre-paid account, both employees and employers benefit from increased efficiency, reduced expense claims administration, as well as significantly lowering the number of business vehicles receiving a PCN.
UK group sales director, Peter O’Driscoll said: “We’ve seen tremendous growth, both in interest and sign-ups for RingGo Corporate, over recent months” says O’Driscoll. “Obviously adding the City of Westminster to our coverage of London, last year, made an enormous difference. If employees park regularly in central London, it simply doesn’t make sense for them to have to pay and claim”.
“Our expansion elsewhere is also helping. Edinburgh has typically been a major centre of usage as RingGo is offered everywhere across the city, so we’re very much expecting Glasgow to follow suit. With RingGo now offered in 235 towns and cities across the UK, we see this growth continuing as more and more businesses get to know about our solution”, O’Driscoll added.

I use Ringo on a personal level using their App on my mobile phone. I find it very useful and easy to use but think the handling fee could be lower and based on a small percentage of the parking fee rather than a set fee. However, it does get frustrating when you sometimes can't get a 3G/4G signal in the actual car park. The options then are to call them (takes a lot longer and can be fruitless if you've got no payment card to hand), or to take a chance and take a photo of the car park reference number and go and seek a Wi-Fi signal somewhere else to pay using the App (but that has a risk of attracting a PCN in the time between parking and actually paying). A good idea RingGo would be to provide wireless and free wifi at the paystations with restrictions to access the RingGo App/website only?
