Having a firm grasp on your fleet’s daily movements will help simplify the journey to electrification, says Stewart Lightbody, group head of fleet at Sureserve Group.
Telematics data can help identify which vehicles can easily be switched to electric as handing they keys to an electric vehicle to a driver who has no easy way of charging is unlikely to secure support.
Drivers being able to charge at home would be Lightbody’s preferred scenario followed by depot/destination charging.
