Licence Check integrates Driver App with Davis Fleet
Licence Check has integrated its Driver App with its fleet management solution, Davis Fleet, to give fleet managers greater functionality and more effective control over their vehicles in real time.
By integrating the Davis Driver App, which launched last November, into Davis Fleet, fleet managers can receive data from drivers more rapidly.
The App acts as a two-way information conduit, providing drivers with key information, such as insurance documents, contact details and company policies, while allowing them to relay essential data to Davis Fleet, including mileage capture and the results of any vehicle inspections.
The new development is the latest in a longer-term objective to reposition the Davis risk management platform from what was widely known as a licence checking solution to a fleet management offering for operators.
Licence Check managing director, Keith Allen, said: “With the introduction of the Driver App, Davis offers a consolidated experience for managing drivers, vehicles and risk in a refreshingly uncomplicated format at a fraction of the price of traditional fleet management software.
“All the data that matters is collected in one platform with greater accuracy and improved speed, providing powerful fleet analysis, performance improvement and risk mitigation, enabling fleet managers to focus on exceptions rather than the commonality.”
Teletrac Navman launches new consultancy service
Teletrac Navman has launched a new global consulting service designed to produce full decarbonisation strategies for fleets planning multi-energy operations.
The new service will offer insight on the economics, process management, and procurement involved in a company’s sustainability and decarbonisation strategy.
It also provides recommendations for an array of alternative energies, including electrification, hydrogen, natural gas and biodiesel.
“We are operating in a dynamic business and sustainability landscape, which is evolving so quickly that it can make longer-term decision making complex,” said Alain Samaha, president of Teletrac Navman. “This is particularly impactful on businesses that require considerable capital and operational expenditure.
“With that in mind, our new service will provide detailed financial analysis and emission pathways under different scenarios and sensitivities for periods up to ten years, which we’re confident will be a game changer for businesses planning multi-energy transitions.”
The launch of the new consultancy service follows the successful rollout this year of Teletrac Navman’s EVE (Electric Vehicle Evaluator) platform which utilises telematics data and predictive analytics to support the transition of light vehicles to electric.
Svella Connect improves fleet efficiency
Svella Connect has reduced accidents by 40% and boosting resource efficiencies by 25% in six months thanks to a strategic initiative underpinned by Webfleet telematics.
Webfleet, Bridgestone’s globally trusted fleet management solution, sits at the heart of the company’s most recent drive to optimise operations across its fleet of 440 vans and 40 HGVs.
Webfleet’s OptiDrive 360 has been used to target inefficient behaviour behind the wheel. Drivers with the lowest scores under a prescribed quality threshold are automatically assigned to the in-house driver training team.
“Previously there was virtually no visibility of where or what our employees were doing – including on expensive bank holiday, weekend or overtime shifts,” explained Peter Jones, head of fleet optimisation at Svella Connect.
“With Webfleet, we can pinpoint the hours worked with accurate start/finish times and insights throughout the working day. This is particularly valuable as we pay a day in lieu as well as overtime rates, and has meant that we have successfully eradicated overstaffing issues, without any impact on customer service.”
Driver safety has also been a key driver for Svella. Webfleet’s integral in-cab cameras have proven to be invaluable for giving instant insights after accidents.
Furthermore, Webfleet is being used to dramatically improve vehicle safety by mandating drivers to complete vital vehicle checks before each journey.
G3 Vehicle Auctions celebrates 15th Anniversary
G3 Vehicle Auctions marked its 15th year with a sale at the G3 Castleford site.
The celebration sale saw a rare Jaguar XR under the hammer as the first car in the sale, with the sale price on the rostrum matched by G3, with close to £2,000 donated to local charity St Gemma’s Hospice.
With more than 150 physical buyers in the hall for the event, the sale saw numerous vendors hitting 100% conversion on the day.
Over the past decade and a half, G3 has grown from strength to strength, investing heavily in the expansion of the business in the Yorkshire region, before recently acquiring the Cazoo Wholesale business to open a second 14-acre remarketing site in Bedford.
The team has also grown during that time from co-owners Matt Dale and Amanda Holtby to a headcount of more than 130 employees.
Dale said: “With the recent addition of Bedford to the group doubling our capacity, we know we have an exciting 2025 lined up and I believe we have the best in the business across our management team ready to drive us into the next evolution of G3.”

New road safety product aims to improve visibility
A new road safety product – the Be-Seen Screen – aims to help reduce the risk of accidents by improving visibility.
“If there’s a breakdown in lane one, and with hard shoulders in use, motorists are very exposed,” said entrepreneur Richard Edwards, who designed the Be-Seen Screen.
“With a Be-Seen Screen on board, if your vehicle fails on a rainy afternoon in poor light conditions, you can have a bright, reflective warning sign in place in moments.
“By pressing the powerful suction pads to the rear windscreen or boot you can clearly and securely display the distinctive chevrons and ‘broken down’ message.”
He continued: “The banner has the same reflectivity as emergency vehicles, day or night, to make other motorists aware of your stranded vehicle. It’s an eye-catching and faster alternative to safety triangles where the 45 metre walk along the carriageway to put them in place represents a risk in itself.”
The Screen uses a micro-prismatic method to achieve high reflective performance in all light conditions, tested at multiple angles. The lime-yellow and red chevron design is immediately recognisable as a warning.
It can be used for cars, vans, caravans and HGVs. It has been thoroughly tested and will be manufactured in the UK for distribution around the world.
Drivetech launches fleet aggregation tool Halo Insights
Drivetech, part of the AA, has launched Halo Insights, a fleet data aggregation platform designed to significantly reduce fleet and driver risk.
Consolidating fleet data into a single, user-friendly interface, Halo Insights provides fleet managers with a holistic overview of driver risk, fleet costs and operations.
Collecting data on telematics, fuel consumption, accident management, insurance data, and fleet costs, Halo Insights has already been trialled globally in 14 different markets to improve driver safety across more than 5,000 vehicles and is now ready for launch.
It will be available in 45 languages initially with plans to roll out it out to 70 countries worldwide.
Nick Butler, director at Drivetech, said: “By offering tailored training directly to drivers, Halo Insights ensures that safety measures are not only understood but also implemented effectively.
“This direct approach to driver education, combined with the fleet manager’s holistic view of operations, creates a powerful dynamic for real change within the fleet.”
The platform is built around three core pillars: safety, sustainability, and cost efficiency. Proactively addressing driver safety by delivering real-time, individualised training interventions directly to drivers, timely ‘nudge’ interventions help correct behaviours as they happen, fostering safer driving habits and reducing the risk of accidents.
It also identifies opportunities for integrating electric vehicles (EVs), such as identifying drivers who typically make shorter journeys.
