myenergi announces new partnership with the NHS
myenergi has announced a new partnership agreement with NHS Humber Health Partnership to offer employees a discounted zappi EV charger.
Working alongside wider sustainability initiatives to decarbonise national operations and reduce energy consumption, the agreement will help to accelerate the NHS’s transition to electrification, while also providing a smart, reliable, future-proof solution to enable staff to charge at home.
Zappi is fully grid-compatible and has optional charging modes capable of utilising 100% green energy generated by consumers’ own renewable power. This means that drivers can effectively charge their EVs at home for free, using zero fossil fuels and zero reliance on the grid.
Paired with the myenergi app, drivers can set timers to take advantage of economy tariffs, use the boost function and monitor multiple devices.
Jordan Brompton, co-founder and CMO of myenergi, said: “We’re delighted to be partnering with the NHS to help accelerate the organisation’s progress towards net zero.
“Offering our latest technology at a discounted rate will not only make the transition to electrification easier than ever before for countless members of staff, but also make their daily running costs far cheaper and their commuting footprint even greener.
“With around 80% of all EV charging said to take place on the driveway, it’s important to have a reliable charger – like zappi – that’s not just suitable for charging today, but fit for the future too.
“Home charging is cheap, convenient and by far the simplest way to keep your EV charged up and ready for the day ahead.”
The NHS is one of the largest employers in Britain and is responsible for approximately 4-5% of the UK’s total carbon footprint. In October 2020, the NHS became the world’s first health service to commit to reaching carbon net zero.
Simon Nearney, group chief people officer at NHS Humber Health Partnership, added: “As part of our commitment to reducing or carbon footprint we’re encouraging staff to make the move to electric.
“We know from feedback that one of the main barriers to this is the high cost of the chargers. This new partnership with myenergi will provide a cost effective solution and help more of our team make the switch to electrification.”
Dennis Eagle integrates Surecam driver safety and management solution
Dennis Eagle has installed advanced dashcams on 112 vans as part of a video-enabled driver protection solution.
The fleet and video telematics system from SureCam has been integrated with Peoplesafe’s lone worker service.
Dave Nicholls, service operations manager at Dennis Eagle, said: “Our main priority is the welfare of our service engineers when they are working remotely and at high-risk locations.
“By bringing together our vehicle camera, tracking, driver behaviour and lone worker protection requirements into an integrated technology solution, we can safeguard our team, while achieving a host of secondary efficiency, productivity and cost improvements.”
Dennis Eagle rolled out the technology to 112 maintenance and breakdown response vehicles, across 18 sites, after an initial trial.
Each Depot Manager receives video upload alerts of collisions, near misses and harsh driving events, with scheduled reports providing an overview of driver behaviour performance.
The operations team is using location-based data to better coordinate and respond to customer maintenance needs.
The integration with Peoplesafe’s lone worker service provides drivers with a quick and easy way to request assistance. When an alert is raised, controllers at the alarm receiving centre (ARC) can access audio communication and incident data, along with supporting video footage captured from the dashcams.
The added audio and visual insight ensures that Dennis Eagle can proactively manage any emergency situation, taking the most appropriate action, with immediate access to emergency services if required.
Nicholls added: “We have been using vehicle tracking and lone worker technologies for a number of years, but we have now recognised the huge potential of an all-in-one, video-enabled solution to enhance driver protection and management.”
Sam Footer, partnership director at SureCam, said: “We have created a video-enabled telematics ecosystem, underpinned by our industry-leading dashcam solutions, that brings together complementary products and systems to streamline fleet management while mitigating the impact of vehicle and driver risk.”
JCT600 VLS announced new charging partnership with Ohme
JCT600 Vehicle Leasing Solutions (VLS) has secured a strategic new partnership with Ohme, to provide electric vehicle drivers with cost-effective home charging options.
While VLS has had existing partnerships with charge point providers, it recognised the need for a more integrated approach. Working with Ohme, VLS can offer a more seamless experience for ordering and installing home chargers, while also having access to dedicated support throughout the process.
Drivers can source their own charge point or be referred to Ohme as an extension to the ordering process and receive a discounted rate exclusive to this partnership.
Rebecca Eggington, head of customer experience at JCT600 VLS, said: “Ohme’s support and education for drivers was a key factor in why we chose them. We recognise there is still hesitance within driver populations to transition to electric, so having access to informative content was essential.
“Finding a partner that closely aligns with our own values was important to us. Ohme prides itself on ensuring customers are well supported through every stage of the journey, and this is why we trust them to look after our customers. The easy installation process, smart phone app management, and over-the-air updates will ensure our customers have a hassle-free and future-proof charging experience.”
Ohme chargers integrate seamlessly with all energy tariffs, including dynamic tariff options such as Intelligent Octopus Go and OVO Charge Anytime, allowing drivers to charge at the cheapest and greenest times, regardless of the electric vehicle they have.
As the Ohme chargers and app work with all EVs and energy providers, drivers do not need to worry about connecting their car with the tariff.
David Watson, Ohme CEO, said: ,“The combination of JCT600 VLS’ expertise and immense business fleet knowledge with Ohme’s position as the UK’s leading dynamic EV charging company, will help drivers and fleets to charge smarter and greener as well as making significant savings on their running costs.”
