ACFO (Association of Car Fleet Operators) will be holding their Autumn seminar on September 18, in St George’s Park National Football Centre.

The seminar, called 'Day at The Taxes' , will include speakers from HM Revenue & Customs, the Driver and Vehicle Licensing Agency, Health and Safety Executive and Highways England. The seminar will run from from 9.30am to 3pm.

ACFO have asked their members to book as soon as possible, with places restricted to 90 delegates.

ACFO chairman John Pryor said: “We believe this is the first time that fleet decision-makers will be able to hear senior officials from the four major government bodies that impact on corporate transport operations in one location on a single day."

“ACFO’s board members have engaged with government department officials for many years and continue to do so. However, this is an extremely rare opportunity for fleet decision-maker members to hear directly from senior civil servants on key issues and be able to raise topics of key concern to themselves."

He concluded: “This promises to be one of the most important seminars in ACFO’s history in terms of the impact these government bodies have on day-to-day fleet operations.”

At the seminar, HM Revenue and Customs is expected to showcase its online trial launched earlier this year, allowing company car drivers to make changes to car and fuel benefits that will affect their tax codes.

Some of the other topics expected to be discussed are include company car benefit-in-kind tax, mileage reimbursement rates for employees who drive their own cars on business, online checking of employee driving licences and Vehicle Excise Duty and MoT information, the reporting of road traffic incidents and motorway and major road maintenance and investment and the potential for the introduction of more road tolls.
