GKL Leasing has acquired 100% of the shares in Windsor Vehicle Leasing, with the deal approved by the Financial Conduct Authority (FCA).

The two companies have said they will work closely together to maintain or improve personal relationship with customers, while exploring efficiencies that can be made without affecting customer service. They also said they would improve traction with manufacturers and other suppliers.

Philip Smith and Ben Newton will remain as directors of Windsor Vehicle Leasing with Richard Kenning, managing director of GKL, joining the board of directors.

GKL was ranked 40th in last year’s FN50 – a survey of the top 50 contract hire companies in the UK – with 2,427 vehicles on its risk fleet (1,969 cars and 458 vans).

Windsor Vehicle Leasing was placed 48th in the listing, with 1,022 units on its risk fleet, consisting of 809 cars and 213 vans.
