Leapmotor has applied price cuts to its T03 and C10 electric vehicles (EVs), following the announcement of the Government’s new grant scheme.
The T03 is now available for £14,495, while the larger C10 can be had for £32,750.
This represents a reduction of £1,500 for the T03 and £3,750 for the C10.
The discounts are provided through Leapmotor's self-funded 'Leap-Grant', which it has launched ahead of the Government's initiative.
It applies to electric cars with a recommended retail price (RRP) of £37,000 or less and there are two levels of grant available depending on the carmaker’s sustainability standards.
The ‘greenest’ vehicles in band one will receive up to £3,750, with band two vehicles receiving up to £1,500.
The electric car grant (ECG) requires manufacturers to have committed to a verified science-based target (SBT) and have embodied carbon scores below a certain threshold.
Chinese-made EVs are not expected to qualify for the new grant based due to the environmental standards of production facilities.
Leapmotor said: "While the government’s upcoming EV grant scheme is a welcome step towards accelerating the shift to electric mobility, consumers are still waiting to learn which vehicles will qualify, how much financial support will be available, and when the grants will take effect. This has left many potential car buyers in a state of limbo — unsure of when or how to take advantage of the promised incentives.
"To offer clarity and simplicity for UK car buyers, Leapmotor’s LEAP-GRANT programme aims to help car buyers make the leap into electric by offering immediate savings of around ten per cent on the brand’s all-electric range."
