FOD Mobility Group is considering options for its mobility-as-a-service platform, Mobilleo, after deciding to focus its efforts on its Fleetondemand business.

Mobilleo, which allows users to assess multiple options for work-related journeys, was launched in 2016.

However, following his recent appointment as group CEO, Joe Howick, has decided to streamline operations and concentrate on its ground transportation business, Fleetondemand.

“After a comprehensive review of our business strategy and market opportunities, we have decided to sharpen our focus on our core strengths,” he explained.

“The vehicle rental market offers significant growth potential, with projections indicating robust expansion over the next few years, driven by increasing demand for flexible, short and mid-term vehicle access among businesses.”

Fleetondemand’s GT Suite integrates multiple forms of ground transportation, including vehicle rental, taxi, car sharing and pool fleet management services.

It also offers a white label solution for its GT Suite platform, which has seen an increase in demand from major rental suppliers, fleet operators and trade organisations looking to provide bespoke, end-to-end vehicle rental management services directly to their own customers.

Fleetondemand says that an enhanced version of the current on-demand and pre-booked taxi service FOD Ride will be launched soon.

A new FOD Pool service will also offer businesses centralised booking and management of their own pool fleet vehicles, plus access to flexible mid-term rental vehicles, driver information and detailed management reporting, all in one place.

Both services will be integrated within the GT Suite platform.

Howick said: "Fleetondemand is uniquely positioned to capitalise on this trend, having already experienced record growth over the last few years in the adoption of our services from new customer wins in the UK, and from newly acquired customers in target markets across Europe.

“On top of the company’s planned organic growth, we are also considering the potential to make strategic acquisitions to further strengthen our market position."

Before becoming group CEO in May, Howick had been serving as Fleetondemand CEO, and formerly chief commercial officer, on the group’s executive board since he joined the company in 2019.
