Training and compliance supplier TTC Group has seen a 74% year-on-year increase in the number of e-learning driver training sessions.

More than 54,000 hours were completed in 2024, including Driver Certificate of Professions Competence (CPC).

The breadth of companies choosing targeted e-driver training varied, from businesses with fewer than one hundred vehicles to large vehicles managing thousands, many of which operate a blended fleet.

Rich Hickin, group sales director at TTC Group, said: “It is great to see the range of companies choosing e-driver training.

“Whether fleet car, commercial fleet or grey fleet drivers, those who drive for work are often under time pressure.

“More employers are choosing to implement online risk assessments to identify targeted driver training requirements, so importantly, drivers are able to access vital e-learning modules, easily incorporating them into their daily schedules.

“With the ease and accessibility of driver risk assessment, targeted e-learning, and feedback into driver profiles, it is also reassuring to witness more companies committing to ongoing driver training, rather than piecemeal.

“This growing commitment to driver safety and reducing road risk can only be applauded.”

Hickin says with tight fleet budgets, businesses also increasingly recognise the importance of investing in end-to-end risk management solutions to profile drivers.

By identifying potential risky driving behaviour and plugging knowledge gaps early on, companies understand that overall cost savings can be delivered with accident repair and vehicle off-road time significantly reduced.

Online training modules can form part of a robust driver training strategy, and is commonly used alongside methods such as classroom-based training and in-cab assessments to improve driver skills.
