Motor Auction Group appoints LCV auction team for new £5m facility

Motor Auction Group (MAG) has announced the team that will be running its new £5 million purpose-built light commercial vehicle (LCV) auction centre in Goole, Yorkshire.

The five-acre site just off junction 36 of the M62 is set to host its first LCV sale on March 27.

Geoff Flood has joined MAG as centre manager and will lead the team in growing the site into running two auctions per week by the summer and selling 12,000 used LCVs per annum. 

Flood joins from Aston Barclay where he led the LCV team for over six years. 

Gemma Stokes has been appointed as assistant centre manager, while Jaqueline Swaine has joined the team as MAG’s vendor and buyer manager. 

Samantha Wray has joined MAG as vendor manager looking after the growing number of fleet and dealer vendors that have already signed up to sell LCVs at Goole.

The four-strong LCV team have more than 60 years combined experience in the auction industry, a figure which reaches 100 years when you include group operations director Justin Lane whose team is getting the new Goole site ready for business. 

Lane said: “All our teams are working closely to seamlessly transfer our weekly LCV sale over from our Bawtry site to Goole for the end of March. 

“We continue to put the finishing touches to the new site’s refurbishment centre, auction rostrum, signage and security.

“A few vehicles have already arrived on site for the first sale, and we expect to be fully operational by the end of April.” 

Once MAG’s Bawtry site is clear of LCVs it will return to hosting specialist auctions for its customers plus accommodate any additional vehicle storage needs.
