Green Flag has been appointed by Northgate as its rescue partner for both commercial vehicles and personal hire cars across the UK.
The deal, which extends the existing partnership between Green Flag’s owners, Direct Line Group, and Northgate’s parent company, Zigup, officially launches on March 31.
Northgate supports its customers through a nationwide network of 67 branches and workshops and is the rental arm of Zigup, an integrated mobility solutions provider in the UK, Ireland and Spain.
Neil McCrossan, managing director at Northgate, said: “We were immensely impressed by Green Flag’s customer centric culture, focussed on supporting drivers and getting vehicles back on the road as quickly as possible.
“This is incredibly important for our community of business customers, whose livelihoods are directly impacted by the ability to keep their vans on the road and for our personal customers who rely on a partner who will rescue them quickly and safely from the roadside.
“In addition, we were impressed that Green Flag offered a comprehensive technical solution, with owned patrols that can provide parts at the roadside.
“This capability allows us to get our valued customers back on the road faster than would be possible with alternative breakdown providers.”
Adam Winslow, chief executive officer at Direct Line Group, said he was delighted with the contract win.
“Partnerships are a key component of our Green Flag strategy, and we are pleased that Northgate with its significant presence has recognised the benefits of our offering for its customers,” he added.
“Increasing the number of call outs attended by Green Flag will allow us to drive further growth in our owned patrol network and build trust in Green Flag from those experiencing our outstanding customer service for the first time.”
