Europcar Mobility Group UK has added the Polestar 4 to its zero-emission fleet for business and leisure drivers.
The Polestar 4 comes with a 100kWh battery delivering a long driving range of up to 385 miles (WLTP).
Tom Middleditch, head of electric mobility at Europcar, said: “We are excited to add the innovative Polestar 4 to the Europcar fleet, with its long battery range and advanced driver assistance and infotainment features.
“This is a great introductory vehicle for even the most inexperienced electric car driver.”
He added: “Like Europcar, Polestar’s goal is to make electric driving accessible to as many drivers as possible, so we’re excited to be the first major rental company to make it available for use for just a few days, weeks or months.
“It will give motorists a real-world ‘test drive’ experience.”
Europcar employs a “stress-free” approach to vehicle charging for its electric rental fleet, with customers not having to worry about returning the vehicle with a full charge.
Every electric vehicle (EV) is provided at the start of rental with a minimum 80% charge and the vehicle can be returned with just 20% battery charge.
“At Europcar we are continually increasing our range of low and zero tailpipe emission vehicle options available to our customers, facilitating a gradual transition towards zero tailpipe emissions motoring in the coming years”, said Middleditch.
“The Europcar electric rental service is all about helping businesses and private motorists try electric driving in real-world conditions, before making a long-term investment to purchase a new vehicle.
“As such, it is vital that we provide our customers with access to a range of vehicles from value to premium, and from compact hatchback to luxury SUV to meet the requirements of every journey. The Polestar 4 is, therefore, the perfect addition.”
