Renault has confirmed pricing for the new Master range, which will be available with a fully-electric powertrain offering a range up to 285 miles.

It is available to pre-order now, with prices starting from £33,500 for diesel versions and £42,500 for E-Tech electric versions.

The van is available in three size configurations: medium wheelbase - medium roof (MM), long wheelbase - medium roof (LM) and long wheelbase - high roof (LH).

MM versions have a 10.8 cubic metre loadspace. The LM offers 13 cubic metres of space and the LH provides 14.8 cubic metres.

External dimensions (LxWxH) are 5,680mm x 2,080mm x 2,502mm (MM); 6,315mm x 2,080mm x 2,502mm (LM); 6,315mm x 2,080mm x 2,780mm (LH).

Diesel models all have a payload of at least 1,900Kg. The E-Tech has a payload of 1,547Kg, or 1,625Kg if you opt for the 4.0-tonne GVW variant.

Helene Carvalho, Renault Master programme leader, said: “Our goal with the all-new Renault Master was to get as close as we could to the ideal van.

“Tradespeople, contractors and fleet managers will see a real leap forwards, a vehicle that is there for them whenever they need it.”

The cabin features a standard 10-inch screen, an OpenR Link system with Google built-in capabilities meaning drivers will have access to Google Maps navigation, the Google Play app catalogue and the voice-controlled Google Assistant directly integrated in the dashboard.

It also features wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay functionality, and several cues from the manufacturer’s passenger car range, to improve the driver experience, says Renault.

There are two trim levels: Advance and Extra. Advance is equipped with steel wheels, air conditioning, rear parking sensors and cruise control.

Extra gains sat-nav, front fog lighs and LED load area lighting.

E-Tech versions come with blind spot monitoring, an electric parking brake and a digital instrument cluster in addition to the standard specification.

Renault says the new Master is 20% more aerodynamic than the outgoing model, improving efficiency and CO2 – its emissions are 39g/km lower and now below 200g/km - and reducing wind noise in the cockpit.

Three diesel powertrains, delivering 130, 150 or 170hp are available, with transmission options either a manual gearbox or a new nine-speed automatic EAG9 converter gearbox.

The fully-electric model is powered by a 143hp motor with 300Nm of torque.

It uses an 87kWh battery with a 285-mile range. A 130kW DC fast charge adds 143 miles of range in 30 minutes. A 22kW AC home charger tops up the battery from 10% to 100% in just under four hours.

The Master is also designed to accommodate a hydrogen H2-Tech engine and fuel cell in future.

The new LCV range has a set of 20 driver assistance systems including for lateral stability, automatic emergency braking and trailer stability assist systems, as well as intelligent speed assist.

There are 20 conversion bases available from production plants, with Renault saying this catalogue of factory-mounted kits shortening turnaround times and simplifies transport logistics.
